What is an Execution Class?

It is a classified set of requirements specified for the execution of the work as a whole, of an individual component, or of a detail of a component. Execution Class is used as a reliability differentiator for providing choice of quality, testing and qualification requirements. There are four execution classes which range from Execution Class 1 which is the least onerous through to Execution Class 4 which is the most onerous.
